Sync free for life?

Recommended Posts

So do I have sync free for life? Or will I have to one day pay a fee to keep it?

I have had my 2010 FFH for 3 yrs 3 months, am still able to go onto syncmyride.com without issue and don't see any notice of needing to pay any fees.

In the build and price for the fusion Hybrid it says Sync is a three year free initial subscription and fees apply there after.

Also that on Sync with My Ford Touch built vehicles there is a fee from the beginning???

I just went into my account at syncmyride.com - which I've had since July 2009 when I got the car. I clicked the icon for "Sync Services" and below was my notice:

Sorry! SYNC Services is not available for this vehicle

SYNC® Services may be unavailable if your vehicle was released before 2009, if your vehicle was purchased outside the United States or your vehicle is equipped with a navigation system.

So since I have navigation on my car, I don't know if there are some sync services that are only good for three years or not.

If you have sync in your car...you have sync....end of story...its free. Now...sync services is another story. You get sync services free for 3 years. After that, I think its a $75.00 yearly fee. If you have navigation, there really isn't a big need for sync services unless you want the safety of having an automatic 911 call if you are in an accident. I've had it on 3 of my past Ford cars, and I've used it very few times. I figure if I have the Navigation system, I really don't need it.

I think I remember reading that you still have to renew it (SYNC services) each year during the free period, then pay the fee for each year thereafter.

I had it on my old Flex, but since I have nav, its not available on my 10, but it really only has the health report, which was bugging in my Sport, so disabled it all.
