Intelligent Key= Push button start?

Recommended Posts

I was looking for the super-cool "just have the key thingy" in your pocket, and the doors unlock automatically, and the push button start thing on my new '13 FFH that I just ordered. and did'nt see the "push button start" exactly.. but saw under "safety features" - Intelligent key.. does that mean same thing?

There are two terms that deal with the key, from looking at the 2013 Fusion Brochure.

1) Intelligent access - allows you to keep the fob in your pocket and unlock the door when you walk up to the car, and also push-button start. However this option appears to only be available on the Titanium Package, meaning if you really wanted it on the hybrid you would have to wait a few more months for it.

2) MyKey - allows you to set limits on a given ignition key to only allow the car to go up to 'X' MPH. This is normally considered suitable for teenage drivers, however I had a Fusion as a rental last year and the Mykey was set to a max of 75MPH.

Oh well.. between the push button start and the rear deck spoiler...I have the great luxury of no hurry. I will meet with my dealer by the end of the week and let him know to call me when the Titanium Hybrid will be available.. in the meantime.. I'm going to save up for a very nice downpayment!!!

The Intelligent key is wonderful, I have it on my 2007 Prius, it spoils you for other key required cars!

I have to fumble when I drive my wife's 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid--- It requires a key!

Well here is the update. When I ordered mine a few days ago, the salesman signed off on the push button start - on my Hybrid SE. Don't think it's available on the SE, but he signed off on it.

no push button is only on the titanium. you probably got a sales person that we know more about the fusion than they do. I found that alot in chicago as i went to 6 dealers before i decided on who to order from (looking for best trade in and customer service)

That's exactly what I got, Bank... and he signed off on the push button start on my order paper.. so I will at least have some more "negotiating room" i.e. free floor mats, more money off, etc.. when the car finally does come in without it!!!
