Congrats on getting a new Fusion Hybrid. It looks like you're a pretty solid Ford owner! :victory:

Probably going to order a very similar one in the near future... Have you gotten yours yet?

I ordered mine Thursday but don't have any info to use in monitoring the progress yet. I thought about the C-Max, but wanted ALL the toys on this one and lane keeping and adaptive cruise are NOT options on the C-Max. Took my 2010 on a road trip of 4k miles in August and got up to 43 mpg/tank. Love it.

I ordered mine tonight. Same options as Scott's except mine will be white with dune interior. It was wierd ordering the car without driving the hybrid version. I did drive a CMax and also test drove a "normal" ecoboost Fusion. I'm really looking forward to December when (Hopefully) my car will be arriving.

Any idea if the 2013 FFH's are from Flat Rock ?

No I don't believe so, based on an article or Ford press release that I saw a couple months ago (I think it was around then).... Hybrids and Energi models will all be made at Hermosillo, and Flat Rock will build non-hybrids (as will Hermosillo, and Flat Rock augments the existing capacity).

I ordered my White Platinum with Dunde leather interior Hybrid one month ago, before even seeing a Fusion in person. My wife gave me a lot of grief for doing this, but after reading all of the reviews, I was highly confident it was the right decision. The Fusion has been my first choice for a new car (I currently drive a 2004 Pacifica) since it first appeared on the Ford web site, but it did have stiff competition. The Kia Optima was in the running for a while, but its cost the way I wanted it equipped was too high and the interior colors were not to my liking. This left the 2013 Nissan Altima and the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. We drove both and were very impressed, but told the salesmen we needed to see the Fusion first before making a decision. Hyundai must have known how good the Fusion was going to be: they sent me an official factory offer with very good financing terms (rare for a just released model) that expired one week before the press reviews of the Fusion were released.

Two weeks ago we got to sit in our first Fusion, and my wife's concerns disappeared. Her only complaint was that the passenger seat had only manual adjustments, but I've confirmed since then that with the luxury package we're getting, she'll have a powered seat.

Last week we were able to drive a 1.6 SE that was White Platinum but had a Charcoal cloth interior (I haven't seen the Dune leather yet). It's a beautiful car in every way and every angle. The power was more than enough for our needs. It got us to 65+ mph without pushing it on the freeway onramp and had good acceleration in the 60-75 mph range, which is all I really need. I live on the Central Coast of California and I hope to see my first Hybrid on a business trip to Southern Cal next Wednesday. My primary concern now is how luggage will fit in the back. I hope the pass thru is big enough, but it will only be a minor irritation if it isn't.

I still don't have an ETA for mine. Being in a semi-rural area, our local dealer doesn't have the same "seniority" as the big city dealers. I was told we'd know more about its delivery early next week.

Congrats B25!!! Thanks for sharing. My salesman simply nodded his head "no" when I asked if he had any clue when my new baby was going to be in. I look at it as a posiitve, the longer it takes, the better downpayment I will have!!!

I found a dealer in SoCal whose inventory said they had in stock the exact Hybrid I have on order. When I called them Saturday, they said they were expecting delivery this week. I got a call today from the salesmen and he said they were just informed by the factory that all hybrid deliveries have been delayed until late Dec. There is an unspecified problem. Could anyone from Ford fill us in on the details? This was a real letdown since it appeared yesterday that I was going to be able to drive away with the exact Fusion I wanted in less than a week. I'm patient, however, so I'll wait.

Could the delay be because of the transition to Flat Rock ? (tnx for your hybrid info Jeff)

I have no problem waiting... But don't like the "problem" comment.

I just got my window sticker today and my order status is now "in production". It would seem to me that if Ford had a problem and was going to hold all FFH shipment for 2 months

that they would not still be scheduling & building cars. Anyone hear any more about "problems" or holding shipments?

Information update.

I contacted Ford today about the delay subject. Here is an exact copy of the information Ford gave me.

Thank you for choosing Ford. A Chat Consultant will be with you shortly.

You are now chatting with Ben.

Ben: Hello, this is Ben. Thank you for your interest in Ford today. May I have your name please?

You: Hi Ben. Name is Fred. To your knowledge is there any hold on the 2013 Fusion Hybrids?

Ben: Hello Fred. We have no knowledge of any delays in the 2013 Fusion Hybrid. They are being produced and shipped.

Ben: Will this be your first Ford vehicle?

You: First new one.

Ben: We appreciate the opportunity to welcome you into the Ford family.

Ben: Do you have any questions about the options you selected today?

You: Thanks Ben. I have one in production right now. ETA of 11-19. That's all I know about it's progress?

Ben: Not long now, just about 3 weeks to go Fred, congratulations on your order. Is there anything else that I may assist you with today?

Hey all, just joined the forums and wanted to say hello. Scott: I just picked up my 2013 Silver Ingot, Black interior, moonroof, reverse sensing last night!! I am sure you will love your new purchase when it gets in. We traded in our existing fusion (SEL with V6) for the '13 to take advantage of the better mpg and interior/exterior redesign. Going to take sometime to get used to driving a hybrid but first total trip this morning came to 40.7 mpg, loving it so far!

From that web site:

Job 1 for Start/Stop (47B) is not expected until January due to a supplier issue

Since the hybrid has Start/Stop, this may be affecting our deliveries, although the system for the hybrid may be different than the gas version.

Ford Chat yesterday also told me there are no delays, as did two other dealers in SoCal. It may be a MyFord Touch issue, since Consumers Report slammd Ford on their reliability rating due to that.

This is a great video for those who haven't seen the hybrid review:

The 47B start/stop option is for the 1.6 Ecoboost with auto transmissions. The start/ stop

on the hybrids is different. They have not built any cars yet with the 47B option (JOB 1 is the

first car built). So I persionally do not think this pertains to the hybrids at all. JMO

The NY Times just released a glowing report on the Hybrid system on the Fusion.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/04/automobiles/autoreviews/a-hybrid-done-right-but-not-without-glitches.html They had no problems with MyFord Touch, but had multiple glitches with the Adaptive Cruise Control and the Driver Assist Packages. This could be the cause for some delays. I am so glad I decided not to get these options.
