MKZ 2011 Report post Posted December 16, 2011 If the braking is augmented by the regenerative system, shouldn't the pads and rotors last a really long time? We have had brake squeak problems that have resulted in new rotors and pads at 20,000 miles. This was unanticipated as we have a history of very light driving and braking. Anyone else wit brake squeak problems?
dennisw Report post Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) Is anyone even on this forum???To answer this old question I now have 33,000 miles on my 2010 and my pads and rotors have more to spare I would say about 20,000 more miles. If you are still out there I would say you are hard on brakes. Pad wear depends on driving habits. My pads are quiet and the brakes are very responsive. I have not had the grabby brakes others have talked about only when the car is cold will they grip hard on the first stop but nothing that I could complain about. Love the FFH and my next car will be another one. My life time mileage is at 42 mpg and I have had many tanks that would go past 700 miles if I ran my tank to the bottom. My worst fillup was 39.8 mpg all the rest have been over 40 mpg. I have not gone on any long trips so this could change on my up coming 4,000 mile trip, but I do expect mid 30's on that trip.
