Behind the Wheel of the Fusion Hybrid

Recommended Posts

I know, I'm preaching to the choir here. But I want your input. I wrote a review of the Fusion Hybrid and filmed a video review. The video's not quite four minutes long, so I think everyone can handle it. Check it out and tell what you think:

Good stuff dog but your video says the same 4 cylinder motor as the gas only ? (hybrid = Atkinson cycle engine) as you must know

Nice. Other than what rfruth pointed out, very well put together. I liked how you kept it light with a bit of goofiness thrown in around all the factual stuff, made it a lot more enjoyable to watch than a lot of the boring stuffy videos out there for sure (I've seen practically every one in my research the past many months).

I have been more than pleased with the acceleration of my FFH, in addition to the absence of any shift points, which makes the ride so much more comfortable and enjoyable. In the F-150, not only does acceleration suck wicked bad, but the shifting happens fairly frequently and is very much noticable. Gets very tiresome.

The hybrid is the same color as mine, so that was just some icing on the cake for me. :D

Yes, it's not the exact same engine between the gas and hybrid models, but they're both Duratec 2.5L four-cylinders...one is Otto-cycle and one is Atkinson-cycle. The target market for the video is NOT you guys (you're too knowledgeable)...it's the average person who doesn't care that the valve timing is different between the two engines.

Comet...I didn't want one of those talking-head videos but something a little more enjoyable in order to keep people interested. I don't know how many car review videos I've seen over the years where I was just bored by the end. Thanks for noticing!

Very nice, Sam. I'm not a member of the choir yet. I'm still deciding whether to join it, even though I can't carry a tune to save my life. Do you review cars for a living? And is that fully loaded FFH yours or a loaner from Ford?

The car was a loaner from Ford. I've been testing cars for about 20 years and my writing has appeared in various publications under a few pseudonyms. And this Fusion was fairly well loaded with all the toys.
