Oldguy16 Report post Posted January 24, 2011 Hello all! I have a 2010 Fusion with a Steeda Intake. Many people have inquired about mpg or power increases. This post will talk about mpg only. I live in NJ, for those of you who would like to compare climates. Recently, this winter has been quite cold just so you know. Anyway, as far as WINTER mileage goes, I have done one month with the airbox, and one month with the intake. I drive the same route everyday, at the same times. I have driven the car, nobody else. I have limited the most possible unique factors I could. For the winter, my route has given my the following numbers. All on 91 octane by the way, all from the same gas station. I drive approximately 300 miles a week. With airbox - 21.0mpg average With steeda intake - 23.1mpg average Feel free to ask any questions. Also, for those of you who don't believe me, please read the post, I do not joke when I say the same routes, at the same times, with gas from the same gas station, and the same driver. Temperatures have been around 25 degrees on average, and this week extremely cold, right now it is 8 degrees. I will also do one month intake, and one month airbox in the summer to compare differences, my routes will not change. Anyway, like I said, feel free to ask any questions about numbers, installation etc.
fus10 Report post Posted January 25, 2011 Thank you for the write up. That was exactly what I am hoping for when I go with a CAI. 2 mpg isn't bad. How do you like the steeda intake?
Oldguy16 Report post Posted January 25, 2011 Thank you for the write up. That was exactly what I am hoping for when I go with a CAI. 2 mpg isn't bad. How do you like the steeda intake?Love the intake, sound is so good. Power gain is minimal, maybe a little more torque between 2.5 and 3k rpm. Install is so easy, takes me no more than 5 minutes to swap the intake and airbox. Now this 2mpg is just from me driving normally the way I do. If i start driving the way I really like to, i.e killing Honda Civics, revving it up at a light, you get the point, mileage dies. I'm not guaranteeing you'll see 2mpg, you may see no difference depending on your route. I have yet to do summer mileage also. But I do think the intake was well worth the investment.
