seahawk189 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 I have the 2010 Fusion Hybrid with the Sony sound system in it, but I want more bass. What is the easiest way to hook up a new subwoofer? The one I'm planning on putting in is a 12" Pioneer low profile sub. Any advice???
violentce Report post Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) I have some interest in seahawk189's plans...I want to install a JL Audio kit in the trunk for the same reason he does. My car is an 2011 SE, not the hybrid. I am looking at something like this: JL ProWedge but it looks like I would have to install an OEM interface unit like the JL Audio CleanSweep DSP and a Signal Summing Interface just to integrate it properly. The problem with this is that now you would have to install amp(s) for the factory speakers as well because these look like all or nothing kind of units. I actually am not looking to replace the interior speakers at all, just add some rear fill and take the bass workload off of my factory setup. I am not opposed to replacing them over time, if I need to...just don't want to start with $1000+ cost in my car stereo. If there is a better, or less expensive way, I am all ears! merchjo Report post Posted January 19, 2011 How about using a pac-audio Amplifier integration interface for Ford. This will give you the front and rear rca outputs to go to your amp that powers the sub. I used their stuff before works great and there is no cutting of factory harness. http://pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=548&CategoryID=

lurker283 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 This is what I installed in my 2010 FFH, it is a custom box using a JL Audio 10" Subwoofer. My local Car stereo dealer made it using epoxy resin, he charged me around $600 for parts and labor, it is powered by a JL Audio 6x100 D amp, by bridging 2 of the channels, the other channels power the other stock speakers, I also have the Cleansweep DSP and SSI from JL audio, I have the Sony 12 speaker system, my installer disconnected the 2 8" rear deck speakers, they didn't sound very good anyway.
