BigShabazz Report post Posted December 23, 2010 I've been looking around on websites like Tirerack.com and a couple others and plan on getting a new set of wheels come spring or summer time for my 2010 SE. I've taking a liking to the 19" ASA GT1's that I've found on above mentioned site, but I've heard that some car models have issues with spacing even though it's said to be flush. I was wondering if anyone who's put aftermarket wheels on their car had any sort of issue like this. And if so if there's anything that could be done to remedy the situation. Also, is there anything in the owner's manual about the dimensions for wheels? I've skimmed through the online manual, but when I bought my car used, it just came with a maintenance one. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.
jbaker14 Report post Posted January 21, 2011 I just got 18' Motegi R118's and plan on getting 225/45/r18's soon. I'll let ya know how it goes. Do you know if putting new wheels on the car will do anything to my warranty?
akirby Report post Posted January 21, 2011 There is no such thing as "flush" - every wheel has a backspacing and that has to be correct for the wheel to fit the car along with the bolt pattern and clearance for the brake calipers. If tirerack.com says it will fit then it should be fine. Call them if you want to be sure. The backspace specs are available but not widely published. The only thing that might be affected by new wheels from a warranty perspective is the wheel bearings.
SportBlue09 Report post Posted January 28, 2011 Be careful with the ASAs. I have seen sets with corrosion on the lips. I would google ASA corrosion. Good Luck!
modular Report post Posted January 29, 2011 All the wheels showing under the search for the 2010 Fusion it is a proven fitment for the car. They won't show a wheel that will give fitment issues. I highly recommend using The Tire Rack as they include all the items needed for the install though I bought new TPMS sensors and the training tool as well.
