rvx290 Report post Posted September 10, 2010 I am wondering if anyone else has this "problem" I love my 06SEL and everything works great, only thing that has grown old for me is how it lurches when I take off from a standstill, if it was a 520hp shelby mustang I could understand it, but I will touch the gas like a normal average driver and it really takes off, I am a fairly handy person and was wondering if there was anything I could modify to smoothen it out a little. (and yes its an automatic, I am not popping the clutch :P

(and yes its an automatic, I am not popping the clutch :PDon't take my word for this at all, but using logic, maybe, and I mean maybe, you could get a chip and tune down the amount of fuel being injected at low rpm's. SCT has a "eco friendly" chip, maybe that'll help with that. just to throw it out there, I'm only using logic to come up with a solution, I've had no experience with this before. This seems to be all about the amount of power at low rpm's, decrease the power with the computer (chip) and you won't get the surge. Although this isn't a bad thing lol, unless you're really wearin' down the tires.
snowboardxt Report post Posted September 17, 2010 Mine too also does this (2006 SEL), However It seems that this only happens when I have the AC on. Try to turn off the AC and see if it still happens. It seems that there has been multiple problems with the AC system especially on the 2006 models. Keep me posted to see if that changes anything
