rpoffen Report post Posted November 17, 2010 Wow! You guys must drive on nice flat surfaces, long commutes in warm weather. Bought a 2010 FFH for my wife this fall, she has about 1500 miles on it already. I've driven it a few times on weekends any her mileage has been 31.X pretty consistently. No way is she ever gonna get 700 miles from a tank! Now, keep in mind we're in Alaska, the temp is about 20-30 degrees and she drives very hilly terrain for 2-5 mile trips max, no freeways, getting the kids to school, sports, etc. and she is a former Odyssey driver with a lead foot ; ) The way you drive it can have a big impact. If you drive like my wife, accelerating hard and staying on the accelerator until 100ft before the next stop sign or light then slamming on the brakes :shift: does not take advantage of the hybrid system's advantages. If I drive the car, I get about 42MPG, when my wife drives the car, she gets 37MPG. Make sure she has it in drive and not low. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

However, I'm a very avid eco-driver, and rarely go over 70mph on the freeway. Sometimes in town (San Francisco, CA) I get 60+ MPG. My overall long-term average is 40.3 MPG. HINT: When you're stopped at an intersection, be sure to accelerate S L O W L Y when the light changes to green until you reach 25 (or so) MPH, then try COASTING to the next stoplight while in city/town driving. You'd be surprised just how much gas you can save!I'm looking very hard at buying a 2011 FFH for my wife. You'd be surprised just how much gas you can save! If you put the display in Empower mode, you can see exactly at what point of throttle position will keep you in EV mode without kicking in the ICE. knight179 Report post Posted January 21, 2011 (edited) I am getting an average of 47 MPG on each tank. If i'm lucky i can get 48-49MPG a tank. So if i went to empty i would be getting 822 miles if the tank went completely empty and 775 when the indicator changes to E . I drive about 200 miles a week on highway at an average of 60mph and about 30 miles a week on city averaging 40-45mph. currently i have 24k miles on my car.
