fusionff Report post Posted August 15, 2010 On my new '10, just noticed that there are 4 brass screw holes on the top of the engine. Should this be equipped with an engine cover? Or was that an option? The Fusion does not come equipped with an engine cover, nor was it an option. A few of us have engine covers, they are covers for the Lincoln MKZ that fit the Fusion engine (same engine). You can order a cover, or maybe find on on Ebay. I don't know the part number or the 2010's. Make sure you get the cover that is the same size as your engine.

JohnE Report post Posted December 13, 2010 I agree with FusionFF, it didn't come with, nor was it an option. But, I too didn't know that the MKZ's had covers that would fit our Fusions. Got to tell you all that I have a new Fusion 2011 3.0 SE with just about every option I could get. I'm finding that there's not much out there for the 2011 to give it some 'omph' and better ride. I'll be looking for a better suspension, a tuner for the engine and an air system, K&N doesn't even have one out (yet). I would think there'd be more out there for the Fusion and if there is I'm missing it (unless there isn't any or it's going to be a long wait). Anyone have any ideas about obtaining this stuff? Thanks....
chris00gt Report post Posted December 16, 2010 I think the engine cover makes the engine bay look so much cleaner!! I picked mine off used from another fusion owner who was parting out some mods.

I just removed the LINCOLN lettering from it, same one will fit your 3.0. Here is the link, it came with the 4 screws to mount it on. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=214290&chapter=&Sectionids=0,2453&groupid=11820&subgroupid=11821&componentid=0&make=21&model=Zephyr&year=2006&graphicID=KF06172&callout=1&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0 Here is a pic of mine. danford1 Report post Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) Can someone post a close up picture of the ball stud used to hold the engine cover on?I have the Ford part number 2L1Z-6N958-AA.I want to see if I can make one or find another place to buy them from. Please take a couple key dimensions or simply lay a tape measure or ruler next to it when you take the close up picture.Thanks.Danford1 Edited January 13, 2011 by danford1
fusionff Report post Posted January 14, 2011 I'm curious as to why you just don't order them from Ford, either online or at you local Ford dealer parts counter? I can't help you out with any pictures, my car has been covered since I last drove it on Christmas Eve. The snow just keep on coming!
JohnE Report post Posted January 21, 2011 Anyone know if they have the same cover on 2011 Lincolns? The older ones must be different that the newer 2011 engines, therefore wouldn't fit (or I'd go with the old). But I have to agree, the cover adds a lot to the engine compartment, nice! Anyone notice any heat gain or problems with it on?
lakesidezephyr Report post Posted January 30, 2011 so i have a few things i would like to do to my zephyr's engine cover. but i have not been able to remove it. does it simply "pull" off (seems to be held down in 2 places.....i tugged gently! maybe thats my problem?). can anyone shed some light?.....or encourage me to pull harder? or is there a trick? thanks in advance.......lakeside
fusionff Report post Posted January 30, 2011 (edited) Yes, the cover pulls right off. You want to pull close to where the bolts are, just feel where the most resistance is. If you pull far from the bolt, you could possibly bend and snap the cover. :banghead: It is held on by 4 bolts, kind of like a ball in socket joint. lakesidezephyr Report post Posted January 31, 2011 Can anybody point to me to a link where I can get one of these for my 2010 Fusion? What Lincoln model will fit mine? kaleb- covers were/are standard equipment on the lincoln zephyr/mkz. these cars have 3 liter ('06) or 3.5 liter v-6's. the covers had/have "lincoln" in chrome stick on letters across the cover. as to a link.....well, you could link up with your local ford-lincoln dealer, if you are lucky you may be able to score one in a salvage yard, or perhaps find a member with one who is trading in his ride and so is taking off mods. see above posts..... good luck with your hunt.......lakeside
