mpg/dte observations

Recommended Posts

hi all, I filled up the ffh yesterday, after waking up early and washing and waxing it (used Nxt 2.0 ) . I noticed when I filled up the DTE came up as 592 miles. What is this number based on? I could swear the first time I filled up it was much higher.... Also, I find that in mixed driving, I can try my utmost to maximize mpg (gas prices are going down! leave it to me to buy a hybrid and watch gas prices tumble) and the best I can do is 36-ish. what are y'all thoughts? btw I do crank the ac here in hot and humid florida...

Can't speak to the FFH fuel economy issue, but I can tell you the DTE number is based on your driving history. If on the previous tank of gas, I drove a lot of city and ended up around 26-27 MPG, my DTE comes up as about 480 miles immediately after I fill up the tank. On the other hand, if I was doing a lot of highway driving on the previous tank and got 34-35 MPG, the DTE comes up much higher- significantly over 500 miles, sometimes as high as 530 or 540.

To get good mileage, you have to drive like there's an intact raw egg between your foot and the accelerator AND brake pedal. Don't break it

used the 'egg' method driving home from work this morning and got 55.3 mpg over an 18.5 mile trip!!! I am the eggman, I am the walrus.... also drove without a/c on--for some weird reason I don't mind being warm when I'm trying to maximize my mpg.

This evening just installed my weathertech window vent visors--love them, easy install
