I have looked at several posts. People have vast hit and misses with getting a HID Kit to work. I have tint on the headlights now, but it may be coming off due to a less than stellar install. If the bubbles to come out, it is too dark for the halogen headlights. I looked at the compartments on where to place the ballasts and the wiring required. I know there may be an issue with the DRLs and have to go to the dealer to get the SBJ set to disable them. My question is which HID kits are working and with what options?

Retro-Solutions: Digital kit looks very impressive. I may go this route with the relay kit.

DDM Tuning: Seems people are getting hit-or-miss results. I would prefer true digital ballasts.

eGay: Some people are having luck with the $39 kits. I would prefer a more reputable kit

Does anyone have any other recommendations for kits:

What kit?

Did you need a relay?

Did you buy the harness/capacitor?

What kit? Xenon Depot Kits are good. FOR ME I only go as high as 5000K.

Did you need a relay? I did not install a replay or wiring harness. I went with a 55W kit. When I used a 35W kit I had flickering issues on the passenger side. This goes with the fog lights as well.

Did you buy the harness/capacitor? I tried the capacitor, it still gave me flickering issues. They didn't work in my case. (Slim Ballast or Normal)

Good Luck

I haven't bought anything yet. I am trying to find out what kits and accessories people have needed to prevent flickering. BOW, and misfires. If it takes getting the relay and harness with capacitor, so be it. I just don't need something to stop working like headlights. I do not want to get pulled because my tint is too dark. Add that and the fact that I have a black on black, my car is dark as anything.

What brand kits did you go with? I do want 5000k bulbs for the headlights. I may get the fogs done later on down the road.

I have 2 55W kits from vvme. Both are 55W kits, no flicker. I had flicker issues with the 35W kits.

The reason I went with 55W is because the stock bulbs were already 55W also never had luck with 35W kits on this car and I do not want to be running wires or relays. I did a relay with my old Honda Prelude with an Audi retro, worked great.

The fogs were a pain to do! ughhh but i manage to get it done.

Goodluck

I installed HID kit on my 2010 Fusion (H11 55w Headlights, H11 35w foglights), but 3 days after install, my fusion did not started. The dealer said me that the PCM had been damaged and will be repaired under warranty but says that what caused this problem were the HID. that could cause this problem?

ddm tuning, great service from then. I have 8k 55w, and they are bright, used a lumen meter to check brightness, it is what they actually say on their website. Have order 4 kits from them now, no problems at all. Couldn't be happier. Got the kit for 50 bucks, no flickering, and did not need a relay.

4 kits and no issues? I have been having mass issues with my ddm tuning kit. My driver's side stays on for 5minutes then cuts out, my passenger has gone out a time or 2 and flickers on occassion... not impressed. Had them a week, I'm gonna talk to somebody this week annd see what can be done about it.

Really? We're now on our 12th kit and have had no problems at all. 4 different cars, Fusion, explorer, jetta, and grand marquis, all work great and are fantastic. Here's the thing. HID's use way more than 55 watts on startup, so if your wires are getting too hot, or possibly a connection is bad, then maybe I could see the light shutting off. The lights only shut off if they can't get enough power.

I've readjusted and checked the wires 3 or 4 times to make sure the connections are good and they can't get any better. Not sure why they would "overheat" in my Fusion but not yours. What year is your? I have a 2010 with the projectors so if you have an 06-09 with open area with better heat displacement I guess that would explain.

I have a 2010 SEL V6, I bought the regular kit, no slim ballast, no digital, and have had no problems. I plan to do the fogs when i get the money. None of the cars we have done HID's on have had problems. This is odd, I'm not saying you did anything wrong with the wiring at all, they make it dummy proof even lol. Maybe you got a bad ballast. It's just odd how we're on our 12th kit and soon to order another for a mustang, and we have yet to have a problem.

I wonder, I went with the slim ballast but again I don't see what diff that would make I guess I just need s couple of minutes to actually call them to get some ideas from them.

Might happen if i can't get it to work but hid hub is literally 3 1/2 times the price... That would have to be a freaking huge gain in performance, reliability and anything you cannthink of...
