Rodeo Report post Posted May 8, 2010 (edited) I got my Blackberry Tour and the SYNC in my car to recognize each other, but when I get out and later get back in my car, they aren't paired any more. I have to go through the process all over again it seems to manually pair them. Isn't there a way to have them automatically "pair up" each time I get back in my car with my phone?-------------------------- Never mind, I think I got it now. it was a setting in the Blackberry that was prohibiting automatic detection. Too bad though that my Blackberry will not support the "text messaging" function of SYNC as SYNC is capable or reading your text messages out loud to you as they come in while driving. It's says 'not compatible" even though I do get texts on my blackberry. Edited May 8, 2010 by Rodeo
tsave31 Report post Posted June 3, 2010 I have a Tour as well and I might be wrong, but I believe the texting feature not working is a Verizon thing, not a Blackberry thing. Again, I could be wrong, but I think I remember reading something somewhere about Verizon putting the clamps on this feature. UnmaskedGremlin Report post Posted June 3, 2010 I don't think SYNC has a system yet to read the way the new RIM OS does texting. Too bad, because I quite like having my Tour paired up otherwise.

It's not Sync. RIM must not be supporting that feature of the bluetooth interface.
shawn_carter69 Report post Posted July 23, 2010 If you go to syncmyride.com it will tell you what features Sync supports on what phones and no Blackberry's are able to have texts read. I would have to agree it is a RIM thing.
