sullied Report post Posted March 4, 2010 So, I'll be ordering my FFH this summer (hoping for delivery around August 1). Has anyone caught wind of info on the 2011 FFH? My dealer can't even seem to give me a firm date on when production will start for 2011. I'm hoping some of the kinks found in the 2010 will be worked out in the 2011 model year. Any info or places to watch for info would be wonderful.
Grey Report post Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) Last I heard, -sc heduling begins June 24 and production July 19. Vehicles begin to arrive in dealerships late August. Order guides are not out yet - should be by the end of March. Edited March 4, 2010 by Grey

Right? It seems like late August is a long time for them to get to dealerships if production starts July 19th... By the way...where did you get this info from? There won't be any 2011 Fusions in dealerships by Aug. 1, is my bet.. They won't ship immediatly as they need some time to test the production vehicles. The timing comes from the dealer news bulletin that every dealer gets. If your salesperson says they don't know, it's because they didn't look or ask. BTW, if you decide to order a 2010, you will need to get your order in by the second week in May.

I wonder if they will have enough sense to fix the tacky door buttons and add some leg support to the rear seat. If I bought a 2010, those things would bug me forever. I've had keyless entry keypads since 1997 - they don't bother me at all. Then again I actually use mine so for me it's function over form.
probowler Report post Posted March 9, 2010 I'm looking forward to see what the 2011 has to offer. I'm on the fence about getting a fusion hybrid. If I could get a great deal for a year-end 2010 that would be great! But then again I'd love to be able to order one from the factory and get exactly what I want. Hopefully the 2011 isn't TOO different that maybe I could wait till next year for one.

Maybe I need a different dealer or something...he doesn't seem to have as much info as you. Since you seem to have all of the info...if I were to wait for a 2011, do you know when I could place a custom order for one and when to expect it by? Rob All dealers have access to the Dealer News Bulletins with links to the ordering/scheduling and Job 1 dates. Perhaps they want you to buy now of out of their stock????? When I call my buddy at the dealership, he can tell me very quickly what information is available online. Pedestrians can't get to the Ford Intranet - wish I could. Sometimes the Managers within the dealership, who do have access, don't want the salespeople to bother them with these questions - plus, it may change anytime Ford wants to change it. Easier to ignore the request for information than have to explain why it wasn't correct later. As of Feb. the order bank will be open on the 2011 Fusion on March 22. Dealers will have the order guides by then and can actually input an order at that time. On June 24, the Ford system will begin scheduling production for the assembly plant. I expect pricing to come out about this time also. Job 1 is projected to be July 19. Ford may accumulate vehicles in the storage lots for a week or two as the production vehicles are tested, quality checked and inspected. Then they will consoliddate shipments to various parts of the country. That is why I expect to begin seeing the 2011's in dealerships by the end of Aug. Any or all of this could change, Decide to buy a 2010 or go in on March 22 and see if you can place an order for a 2011, recognizing it may be September before you get it. Good luck with your decision.

He didn't have anything to access on his computer but said his manager probably had more info. He wasn't there at the time...so I'm waiting on an e-mail back today/tomorrow about it. However, I did just get this e-mail back from Ford themselves (e-mailed them through their website). It's quite different from the info that you've got.... "We are happy to hear about your interest in the 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid. We expect the order banks to open within the next month for the first line of production, and the dealers to begin taking delivery of the vehicles in late May, or early June. The full production for the 2010 Fusion models have ended, however you may still be able to place an individual order for a 2010. You can place the order through your dealer and they will let you know if they order gets accepted for the 2010 model." Sounds to me like I'm probably getting a 2011 whether I wanted one or not. Just wish they would offer more color options... Rob
