Upgrading internal storage of the head unit

Hey folks,

 

Is it possible to upgrade the internal starage capacity of the headunit? The existing 10Gb capacity is pretty small. I am thinking that the internal storage can be swapped out with a large capacity notebook hard disk.

 

Storage is super cheap right now and it's surprising that Ford/microsoft did not give us more than 10GBs.

 

Maybe they used a flash memory which would explian the small size?

It's a 40GB drive. 10GB is reserved for our use. But why risk unintended consequences? You can buy a portable 500GB drive, load it up and "plug-in" to the usb port. Sync will control it. An upgrade to the internal drive may lack software support!

As PJFW8 pointed out, it's part of the Navigation drive and not part of the Sync system. You would not be able to just "swap it out".
