Curse The Sky Report post Posted August 5, 2009 Hi guys, Is it possible to buy and install SYNC to a car that isn't equipped with it? I know it was roughly a $400 option, and I really wish my Fusion came with it. I know the steering wheel buttons are different, I don't have the USB ports, and I don't have the phone functionality. grampp12 Report post Posted October 23, 2009 I bought my 2008 Fusion used (just got it Wednesday - 10/21/09), and I was wondering the same thing! I like the functionality of Sync, but it wasn't in the car I bought, but I wanted the low miles and high MPGs, so I couldn't pass it up. Any ideas/suggestions out there? UPDATE: I contacted a larger Ford dealer in my area and the Parts guy thought there was a way to do add Sync on a vehicle not otherwise equipt. He was going to make a phone call and let me know. He did ask what type of radio I had... my radio does have the Phone button and it has an Aux button as well. He thought that if it had those buttons, it was possible. grampp12 Report post Posted October 23, 2009 I received a call back from the Ford dealer just a bit ago.... the tech stated that Ford does have a Sync kit, but it will only work for 2009 and newer models. If your car fits into this category, you may be in luck, otherwise, keep looking. :-) He did not give me any info regarding cost on the voicemail he left.
