Anyone know what size the door speakers are with the basic 6 speaker system?

Should be standard Ford 5x7s.

That's what the installers are telling me, but the guys at the ford parts stores say 6.5. Another person said 6x8. So I am unsure what to buy.

5x7 and 6x8 are interchangeable. They're usually listed as 5x7/6x8. The rear deck subwoofers (if you have those) are 6x9s.

Thanks. Have any idea if anyone makes 6x9 woofers? (besides Ford)

No - I've been looking myself. Best I could come up with is a 6x9 Coax. There are a few with good bass. It wasn't a priority so I let it slide.
