Jukebox capacity

Recommended Posts

Picked up my new FFH yesterday. Spent this afternoon doing the normal stuff - papers in glove box, umbrella and flashlight in trunk, remove window sticker, etc. Then started loading CDs into the jukebox. Somehow I had calculated it would hold 13-14 CDs. I loaded 10, then found the button for hard drive statistics. It said that I had used up 10 hours of the 165 hours of tracks possible! WOW! However, I also calculated that to load that many CDs would take about 38 hours actual time. Just an FYI to y'all.

The music is ripped to WMA which is a compressed format. I can't find any way to set the quaility, but it seems to be pretty decent. You should be able to get 150-200 cds in.

I think the HD is 10GB, which can hold appx 2,500 tracks.

I think you are far better off to rip CDs to the MP3 player of your choice. Then you can have a backup on your computer. You could rip 100s of CDs to the drive, but if the system needs to be reset or replaced (warranty), you will have to do it again.

I like being able to have different music on my FFH jukebox than I do on my iPod, which I use mostly for running. (Also, I am cheap about some things and have yet to upgrade from my 4GB nano, so I can get much more on the jukebox.)
