Carnivore Report post Posted June 9, 2009 OK so my FFH with 501a came in on Friday and I have to say I love this car. Being an owner of a camry hybrid I can now accurately compare the two. Engine: Camry is a little faster but the FFH is not lacking in power. The FFH and CH have the save surge as most hybrids but the fusion seems to be less pronounced. MPG: Unlike the CH, the FFH seems to in fact get better mileage on secondary roads. The CH does in fact get its best mileage on the highway going around 65. Comfort: The CH is larger inside, but the FFH is more comfortable. I am 6’3” and the telescoping wheel of the FFH pulls further out from the dash than on the CH so its nicer for tall people. Controls: FFH controls are closer to the hand and shifter and easier to reach Climate: FFH has dual zone Stereo: FFH is far superior Navigation: FFH has far more features, and most of them you can use while driving. The CH shuts almost everything off. Voice controls on the CH are very limited but on the FFH with Sync its almost limitless I got the black paint which has a metallic flake in the paint which looks absolutely sweet. Driving: the FFH hybrid and CH are very close in this aspect and I don’t think either has an advantage. Technological innovation: The FFH is light years ahead of the CH
Grey Report post Posted June 9, 2009 Thanks for the comparisons. Car and Driver had about the same impressions. The FFH won the hearts and points of the Judges in almost every category except 1/4 mile times. We saw a black one yesterday and boy did it stand out. Congrats. rlawson4 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 I just got the call from the dealer, mine has arrived and is being detailed. I pick it up 11:00 a.m. tomorrow! I have always enjoyed a new car, but I cannot remember being actually excited. 502A Silver.
samem Report post Posted June 10, 2009 I have been a Toyota Prius owner since 2001 (2 Prius's) and I have loved the brand. I was getting 55 mpg (summertime) on my 2004. I had ordered a 2010 Prius with a deposit. But then, I looked at, drove, read reviews, etc re the FFH. I was captured. I took delivery of my first Ford ever; a 502A equipped, platinum white FFH last thursday. First impressions: wonderful, well-engineered car! I am impressed with the gadgets and I have already programmed the displays and various modes to my preferences. I have 300 miles on it now. I am getting 45 mpg, mostly city driving (remember, I come from a Prius) and I do think 48 - 50 is achievable (city, summertime). Sync is impressive. Nav system is FAR superior to Toyota's. BLIS and back-up camera are absolutely functional - I am relying on them already. I do not yet have a single negative on this car. My accolades have resulted in 2 others who are now purchasing FFH. I really think Ford as a company will succeed and this FFH is a huge, bold move.

My car is exactly like yours, color and all. I thought the Camry was a great car but the FFH beats it in everything. Driving it like I drove the Camry it looks like 7 to 10 MPG better with only 350 miles on the clock. I expect it to get even better avter a few thousand miles. robm15 Report post Posted June 10, 2009 OK so my FFH with 501a came in on Friday and I have to say I love this car. Being an owner of a camry hybrid I can now accurately compare the two. Hi Carnivore,Just like you, I came from a TCH, and I am now happy FFH owner. And I am in full agreement with your comparison of the two vehicles. I ordered my FFH in early March, and didn't get to actually test drive one until two weeks later. After the test drive, when I got back into my TCH, I felt like I was stepping back in time! But what is really funny to me, is that as I was waiting to take delivery of the FFH, I was trying to sell my TCH. So many of the folks that looked at the TCH were intimidated by the technology of that car. I kept wondering what they would think if they looked at a FFH. Of course I wanted to sell my TCH, so I didn't try to sell them on a FFH. But there is no doubt in my mind that the similarity of the two cars stops at the descriptor 'hybrid'. I just love driving the FFH. The ride is so much better, and the power is more than adequate to beat most drivers from a dead stop when the light turns green. rlawson4 Report post Posted June 11, 2009 My FFH came today! 87 miles in, I have averaged 38.5 mpg in mixed 60% highway driving. I love it. It makes my 2006 Acura TL look like a Commodore 64. Thanks to all on the forum that have helped out.
