sonex293 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 I'm having a hard time finding a suitable FFH. Dealers are selling them as fast as they come in. Right now I don't want to place an order for one. I've started looking at the Mercury Milan as a possible option as there seem to be a few available. Now my question. I've always leaned toward the lighter leather colors due to "thigh melting" aspects of the darker colors during those middle of the summer heat waves. The Mercury Milan only comes in the two tone leather seats and I'm wondering how owners are finding the darker leather as far as thermal comfort. Your responses are extremely appreciated. Thanks,Michael
Oman Report post Posted May 29, 2009 I have the Tuxedo black exterior with black leather. The seats have not been a problem in the sun but the dash is an issue. The A/C or windows will cool the air inside the cabin but for about 15-20 minutes after leaving the car out in the sun the dash acts like a radiant heater. I ended up getting a custom-fit windshield reflector and it works great. Even with sun still coming in the back and side windows the interior stays considerably cooler and the dash stays cool. The leather doesn't even get warm at all. Jon I'm having a hard time finding a suitable FFH. Dealers are selling them as fast as they come in. Right now I don't want to place an order for one. But the dash is a radiant heater for at least 15 minutes after you get in. The a/c might get the air cool, but you can feel the heat coming off the enormous dash. If you have to park in the sun, a windshield sun screen is a must. BTW, although you asked about the dark interior, the light leather seats have yet to get hot. cchaos Report post Posted June 3, 2009 I have the dark charcoal leather in my FFH. I haven't noticed the seats getting warm in the sun. But yeah, a sun screen for the windshield is still a good idea.
