PerformancepeddlerBrad Report post Posted May 10, 2009 Ok I asked this in my intro question I have been looking at Magnaflow exhaust part number 16675 more info on it found on their site http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/display...artnumber=16675 I am wondering if anyone has installed this on their car. Magnaflow has dyno sheets showing a decent hp and torque gain just by installing this catback. But I do not want it to be obnoxious and loud. Now from the sound clips I heard it has a deeper sound but that is hard to tell I am trying to get a definite answer about how this sounds!! Thanks all! -Brad
2010SEL Report post Posted May 27, 2009 I put a Magnaflow system on a V6 Grand Prix. It was quite obnoxious, and had a really horrible "drone" right at 65 mph. Very annoying on the highway. For some reason all V6s with louder exhausts just annoy me. It it was a V8 it would be "just right". Who knows if they have tuned the system for a Fusion better than that old Grand Prix. I know, based on past experiene, I wouldn't do it!
diamondrmp Report post Posted December 27, 2009 I had a flowmaster exhaust with megaphone tips installed on a V6 Grand Am I owned. It sounded great! Everyone thought it was a V8! A lot of it has to do with the tips also.
DJE Report post Posted January 1, 2010 I just ordered one. From the audio clip of the Mazda6 3.0 it sounded pretty good. Not obnoxious at all, I thought. Can't wait to get it in!
DJE Report post Posted January 14, 2010 I got my Magnaflow Cat-Back today! Had it installed this afternoon. A buddy of mine is a mechanic here in the Park. When he got done, I asked him how much he wanted. He said $40! I gave him $50. He did it in an hour and fifteen minutes but fifteen minutes of that was bs ing. They look fantastic and sound really good! Maybe a touch too loud at some lower rpms but no where near obnoxious. The idle sound is great and wide open is nearly stock sounding. I can feel the difference. Many thanks to Don Cook at Steeda and Mark the Mechanic! YEEHAW!
