2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid 1445.7 Miles on Single Tank

Recommended Posts

:happy feet: Well it is all over and the FFH did 1445.7 miles on a single tank of gasoline and averaged 81.5 mpg. Not exactly a real world test, but none the less quite a remarkable achievement. It would certainly seem to indicate that it shouldn't be too difficult to exceed the EPA city estimate of 41mpg with a little attention to economy.

While the way they drove the car may not have been realistic (90 degrees w/windows up and no AC), they did drive on public roads that were never closed for the driving, so I'd say if someone was really dedicated to saving gas they could do it.

As long as it is in the 70s, I would be willing to drive w/the windows cracked.. if only just to try to get that kind of mileage.

What a great achievement. I can just imagine the disappointment whenever the ICE started, but you have to charge the battery some time. I hope someone reports the factors that contributed to this accomplishment.

Can't wait to see the commercials.

Mom just got back in Sparky from taking the granddaughter to her piano lesson and reported 42.6 mpg. It now has about 60 miles on it. :happy feet: :happy feet:

So Grey, tell us more about "Sparky".

I think I named mine "Mabel" when I signed up at the Sync website.
