gumhead Report post Posted February 17, 2009 I had a chirping sound coming from my blower. I took it to the dealer and of course they could'nt hear it and they asked me to take it out with a technician. So the tech and I take it out and of course not a sound. I explain it to him again and he says I know what your talking about. It turns out that he drives a fusion and he has had the same problem himself. So the dealership replaced it no questions asked. Just take it into the dealers and they will replace the blower. If you check around the different forums on the net you will find it a reported issue.I think there is a tsb out for this problem as well.
kristy_2116 Report post Posted March 19, 2009 I logged onto this site in hopes that someone else was familiar with this problem. My husband cannot hear the noise and it drives me crazy. I hope that I do not have any problems getting the dealership to hear the noise.
akirby Report post Posted March 19, 2009 Mine made a whirring sound as if a piece of plastic or insulation was touching the squirrel cage. I removed the fan myself (it's right behind the glovebox in plain sight with only 3 bolts) and loosened the fan case and a lot of black particles fell out. I shook out all I could, put it back together and it's fine. I had just missed the warranty cutoff, otherwise the dealer would have replaced it under warranty.
