bhccpp66 Report post Posted February 6, 2009 Hello fellow Fusion/Milan owners. I purchased a new '09 Fusion 4cyl. SEL model for my wife in late September. As I rarely ever drive it and we have no kids or passengers, this rather odd development was not discovered until about 3 weeks ago. We live in the Northeast and when it gets cold, I'm guessing under 20 degrees, neither rear door will open past I'm guessing 6-8" ....roughly between 1/4 and 1/8th of the way. Once it stops it's definitely NOT moving any further, forcing either door would definitely cause damage. No other issues, other doors are fine, and nieither door is restricted in any way. Although I have not been able to get to the dealer ( rather far away from my residence) to check their new car inventory they say they have never heard of such a problem. I'm just wondering if any other cold weather owners might have noticed a similiar occurence. Thanks in advance for any insight. :headspin:
DJ Starr Report post Posted February 6, 2009 I live in Minnesota which I suppose some would classify as a cold climate (wimps). Anyhow though, I cart my kids in and out of the back seat all the time, no such issue for me. I would be S.O.L. if I couldn't get the rear doors to open. Maybe they froze because of lack of use? Interested to hear the end result anyhow, best of luck...

fusionmike Report post Posted April 25, 2009 i live in ontario, canada and it gets very cold here, i dont have any kids but i keep my snow brush in the back on the floor and i regularly use the drivers side rear door to get it and i noticed that when its cold out the door was quite hard to open, and now its spring, the drivers side rear door, wont stay open on its on, it looks like there might be some damage i dont know, but i gonna take it to the dealer in june at my next appointnet as it doesnt bother me much, as i dont use it, but it should be fixed.
