Fog lights question

Recommended Posts

Hi there.

I have a 2008 fusion sel and have a question about the fog light switch. In the manual it states that it will work in any of these 3 positions when the control is pulled towards you

1) parking lamps

2) low beams

3) autolamps

My problem is that it will work on the first two settings but not on the autolamps setting. I like to leave it on the auto setting for convenience and safety, I don't like to take my eyes off the road to adjust the switch for fog lights. Any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong or is it just a faulty switch? I have made sure that my high beams are not on. When I pull the control towards me the light on the switch indicates it's on but I know it's not on.

When the switch is set to Auto and you check the fog lights, are the low beam headlamps on? If the headlamps are on and the switch is pulled out and the fog lights are NOT on, then that sounds like a bad switch. They should be on. Make sure the headlamps are actually on and not on brights.
