Possible ABS module, error code C0048

Hello everyone, I am Vako from Georgia, Europe. I have a problem with my 2010 ford fusion hybrid. On my car's dashboard is illuminated only "check break system" light, no other signals, only that in the uploaded photo. After diagnostic there is written error code C0048, breaks are functioning normally. That alarm on the dashboard is is disappearing sometimes. The mechanic thinks that ABS pump and module needs to be replaced, but he doesn't know for sure. Could you please help me, if that problem is familiar to you? Thank you in advance.

That problem was in 2009 models I guess, my car is made in 2010. Also there is a description for that code in the web - faulty brake booster travel sensor... can the replacement of it manage that problem?

It seems like that TSB was for 2010 models that were actually made in 2009. Since yours isn't, it does apply.

 

I don't know much about brakes other than the basics. See if you can get a 2nd opinion from another shop.

If the rest of the car is fine and you plan to keep it for longer, it's worth trying to fix the issue.

That's the way I decide on whether to fix something or not.
