2014FordFusionSE Report post Posted December 30, 2023 Hello, Has anyone removed their FFH throttle body and cleaned it? Wondering if it's needed at 80k+ miles. The car runs fine but trying to be proactive.
MeeLee Report post Posted December 31, 2023 I doubt it's necessary. I got 130k miles on mine without a single issue. The FFH uses it's engine a lot less than other cars, and it's rpm is much lower as well. If you drive carefully, your tach never exceeds 2k rpm. You probably can do more damage than good, unless you live in a very air polluted environment.
rjj1000 Report post Posted September 27 I bought my FFH at 125K miles. The throttle body was very black and dirty and so I cleaned it with carburetor cleaner. I also removed the MAP sensor and cleaned it with mass air flow sensor cleaner. DO NOT USE carburetor cleaner on the MAP sensor! I have read that the atkinson engine in the FFH causes the throttle body to become dirty. That makes sense to me because the intake valves remain open a short time into the compression cycle.
