mmarreco Report post Posted October 2, 2023 Hello, hope someone can give me some clue on how to solve this issue: 2013 FFH with 170k miles. It has become increasingly difficult to fill up the tank completely. The pump shuts off around 3/4 and then I can only proceed by pumping little by little, waiting some time in between pumping. It seems to be an EVAP problem, however I don't have a CEL on or any trouble codes (per ForScan). I have seen the TSB 13-6-01, but it appears to not apply in this case as the trouble only happens when the tank is 3/4 full. I have tried different gas stations and inserting the fuell filler upside down but it makes no difference. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this would be much appreciated! MeeLee Report post Posted December 26, 2023 When the nozzle shuts off, that's your fuel max. Anything more is overfilling the tank. There is no reason to believe there's something wrong with your car, as the nozzle both provides fuel, and subtracts fuel fumes from the tank. Looks to me like you're overfilling the tank, which is bad.

How many gallons do you fill when the tank is empty? A few times, I've let the FFH run past the 0 DTE and I don't think I've filled more than 12 gallons. Like MeeLee said, stop filling when you hear the first click. 170k miles is great! Your FFH is proof that the transmission issue doesn't affect all Fusions. mmarreco Report post Posted December 27, 2023 From an empty tank I can only get 7-8 gallons before the pump shuts off. The gauge is at 3/4 at that point. I am aware of the issues of overfilling but I don't think that's the case here, it must be something else.
