2015 Trunk Opens in Carwash

I have a 2015 FFH SE 106K miles with a bit of an issue. When I go through the tunnel carwash my trunk opens and my memory seats recall to random positions. I don't have push button start, so it's definitely not a issue with the key fob. The only cause I can think of would be the touchpad, but the touchpad does not control the seat memory settings to my knowledge. I know it's a somewhat common issue for the keypad to cause the trunk to randomly open due to UV and water damage, but I haven't seen any mention of the memory seat issue mine is having. It ONLY happens in the tunnel wash.

 

Any ideas as to what's causing this issue and how I would approach diagnosis? I know there are CAN BUS modules all over the car, so I'm a bit lost. I'm a bit nervous this could the the start of endless electrical nightmares. Any help is greatly appreciated! If this is a bad sign of expensive and complicated electrical issues, I may end up trading my baby in.

You can program the keypad codes to tie to each memory setting, so it certainly could be the keypad causing both issues.  Try putting a big thick piece of tape over the keypad next time you go through the wash just to see if that narrows down the problem.

I just purchased my 2016 435i in February and am already having troubles with it. I took it though one of these laser touch less carwashes and the trunk should have opened throughout it in some way. It changed into then filled with water and the tow hook cowl turned into off (which made me observe the water). The light at the dash did not warn me about the trunk being open till I turned into about five miles away. Dealer said it is not protected due to the fact I opened the trunk for the duration of the car wash and consequently the flooding is user mistakes (no manner!). Has anybody else experienced this? What is a 435i ?
