Heat issue

Recommended Posts

Im having heating issues, the drivers side is blowing cold air and the defrost and the passenger side has a small amount of lukewarm air.

seems this could be a software issue? Looks like other people having the same issue. I bought a plug in heater, useless.

should I try to remove negative battery terminal? Will this help? Not mess up other dashboard displays?

Did you check if the climate controls are set to driver only, or passenger/driver?

If passenger/driver, you'll be able to see 2 different temperatures on the display.

I always use 1 temperature, for driver and passenger.

There are 2 round buttons, left for driver and right for passenger. I have turned the driver side only to red, which is hot and turned the blower to high and the blower fan is going but no hot air, just cool air. I dont see temperatures on the display...2014 ford fusiin hybrid. any suggestions would be appreciated

From the other thread, it seems like disconnecting the battery for a few mins is worth a shot.

When I replaced my 12v battery, I don't remember losing any saved settings. Worst case, you'll have to re-pair your phone and a few things.

When you change the blower fan speed, does it actually change?

Does the engine heat up to normal temperature?

I will try disconnecting the battery and advise if this fixes the heat issue.

The blower speed does change from low to high, but no hot air.

I dont see a temp gauge, but I assume the engine is getting hot, I will open the hood and check to make sure and post the results.

On the screen to the left of the speedometer, you can change the view to include the temp gauge.

Let us know what happens.

Im going to try those things and let you know. Im wondering if anyone knows where the blendor actuator fuse is located, and the amp ? as I want to check if the fuse is blown as well. It may be below the steering wheel or under the hood, might be a reason for the no heat issue, thanks

If your engine is cold, you don't have engine heat helping out.
You can, in park, keep the throttle pressed in halfway, which will engage the motor, and increase engine temps.

See if that helps.
When the engine is cold, and you get no heat, the electric heater elements are not working.
But you can still get heat from the engine.

If the engine isn't able to heat up the cabin, it would mean you have a clogged heater core (highly unlikely), or are running without coolant (even more highly unlikely).
