Mercury Milan Report post Posted September 12, 2008 If it was an option in '06 then just go to the Ford dealer parts dept. and order the harness(s). If it wasn't an option, or if it's too costly or too hard to add the harness(s) then as akirby suggested I'd just get the correct PIE adapter from PIE. PCM Report post Posted September 17, 2008 I've got a 2006 Fusion V6 SEL with the 6 changer CD. I recently installed an iSimple PXDX2 and it works great. I picked it up on eBay here for $70. The toughest part was taking off the dash trim around the radio. Other than that, it was pretty easy to install.
SoonerLater Report post Posted September 18, 2008 I have an '06 Mustang, but the head unit is identical. The PIE adaptor works great. I think you'll be impressed with the sound quality off your iPod versus radio or CDs. Make sure you get the updated version. I had to order a chip for mine, otherwise the lights on the radio stay at the dimmed level you get with the headlights on. Either way, I lost the speed volume. Still, for the versatility, it's a fair trade-off.

gtppilot Report post Posted October 19, 2008 LOL :hysterical: :banghead: :hysterical: That is the PIE site, however, it states you need to be a dealer/distributor to order onedirectly from there. Not true ?
Mercury Milan Report post Posted October 19, 2008 Correct, according to the dealer contract P.I.E. does not sell directly. HOWEVER they can tell you who the closest dealer is in your area. You could also try to call Best Buy and/or Circuit City to see if they carry it :)
k-dogg Report post Posted October 17, 2010 and what about if i don't have an Ipod, just another brand mp3 player. Isn't there an adapter that will just plug into the headphone jack of my mp3 player?
akirby Report post Posted October 17, 2010 and what about if i don't have an Ipod, just another brand mp3 player. Isn't there an adapter that will just plug into the headphone jack of my mp3 player? That's what the PIE adapter gives you - a headphone jack auxilliary input.
k-dogg Report post Posted October 17, 2010 That's what the PIE adapter gives you - a headphone jack auxilliary input. so the PIE adapter comes with a connection to plug into the bottom of an Ipod, or a stereo mini connection and I can just hookup whichever one i want when I'm installing the PIE adapter? Was hoping there would be a cheaper option than that.

Was hoping there would be a cheaper option than that. The PIE adapter I used gives you a headphone input jack connected to the Aux input. That's all it does. There may be other pie adapters with iPod docking connectors. Google is your friend.
