2016 Ford Fusion Energi AC fan not blowing

Recommended Posts

Today, the fan for ac or heat wasn't blowing. I could feel the cold air slowing coming out, but turning up the fan did nothing. Still under warranty, but it's a hassle to get it to the dealer. I'm wondering if maybe it's a fuse i can check or if you guys think I should just take it in. Or is it an easy fix? My deductible is only $100, but it's my time and the hassle of leaving it there.

So I found the fuse, under the box. Had to disconnect the big plugs to get it out. Took out the fuse and it looked good. Put it all back together and the fan turned on just fine. Any idea why this happened? Blower fan going out? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Also wondering if this is ok to drive with. Not sure if anything else is effected by this.

The compressor motor is automatically limited, to prevent freezing.
My recommendation if you need to run the AC for the time being, is use outside air, and open the rear windows by a quarter to half an inch.

That way the draft brings some cooler air in.

But yeah, either fuse, fan power lead damage, or your fan may be jammed.

Usually the last 2, could be as a consequence of doing a bad job installing or swapping the cabin air filter.
