Fusion 2018 Hybrid- After few minutes AC is blowing hot air

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am the new happy owner of FF Hybrid from 2018. The car is in Titanium/Platinum spec with AC seats, quite comfy and fuel consumption is on very reasonable level. however I have an issue with Climate Control.
The issue looks like, car is standing in a garage. Im starting the car, putting the AC to lowest temp and driving. After a while, sometimes is a 2 mins and sometimes Im driving with AC for over 15 minutes, but hot air is blowing.
So far I did:

- restarting  the system by removing the negative terminal from battery

- restarting the climate control panel by pressing off button and rear window defrost

- pressure in the AC system has been checked

- there is no leaks

- ambient temperature is changing, so the sensor is working

- climate control panel has been removed to check the connection and wiring

Also I used a Forscan to check if there is any DTC and when AC is not working, one of the DTC code is visible: U010F: Lost communication with Air Conditioning Control Module. When I delete that code everything is going back to normal, but only for a limited time.

I would like to add, there is no warranty and dealers saying that they never seen that code and issues before...

Thank you in advance for any suggestions or information.

Regards,

Hubert

The fact that it takes a few minutes to warm up, makes it look like the heater core routs hot air in.

How hot is the air? If it's as hot as a hair dryer, burning your hand when keeping it close to the vent, it means your ac isn't working at all.

If it feels mildly warm, your ac may be working, but unable to overcome the engine heat recuperated from the heater core.
