MeeLee Report post Posted March 17, 2021 Not sure if the Energi/PHEV would have been the better car or not, but, 1- I need the trunk space, I drive Uber 2- I have no place to charge the car anyway, live in an association 3- I frequently drive long hours. The Fusion Hybrid is a great car! It could have been greater, if they only had equipped it with a 1L 3Cyl, and doubled the output on the electric motors (to 80-120Kw), and increased the battery capacity. It would have been easy to get 50MPG out of it that way! Any tips or tricks you can recommend? Also, do replacement batteries come in Li-Ion form? 1 markn455 reacted to this

All Ford hybrids 2013 and newer come with Li-ion high voltage batteries. I would expect the replacement batteries would be Li-ion batteries as well. How's it working out, mileage, city you are driving, etc. Thanks Mark
MeeLee Report post Posted March 27, 2021 (edited) My hybrid (non-phev / non-energi) has space for 1 small suitcase, and 1 large, and a handbag. Anything else goes on the front seat. Works well during covid. May not work when pool will be reactivated. Edited March 27, 2021 by MeeLee

I have a hybrid SE, prolly same model as your car, and one of the biggest fears was that performance would not work out with highway driving. my car (Rachel) she can get up and go when she needs to, but she's a heavy girl. No, it is possible, since you can compensate the loss of engine power, with the increase of electric motor performance. The Prius has a 1.8 liter with an 80kW motor, and accelerates faster than the fusion. The fusion accelerates too briskly at low speeds, when both engine and motor are accelerating, which could indicate a too low gear ratio. But in eco mode, the acceleration is just 'normal' with the 20-30HP the motor uses to accelerate from a stop to ~25MPH.
