Where did you get the 8yr/100k warranty info from. That would be the electric side of a hybrid version from memory.

Standard warranty for transmission is 5 yr/60,000 mi

Dont quote me, you should really reference your paperwork but you should have also got a warranty when purchasing the vehicle from the dealer, something like a 50/50 within 30 days or 10k miles.....

I understand you expect that a dealer would have noticed this prior to putting the vehicle up for sale but most of them are just as dodgy as the dodgy guy down the road.

Sorry

Thanks for the response. I read on here people having issues with their transmission and ford replaced it for them. I think it’s considered part of the hybrid system Which is why it’s till 100k or 8 years. Unfortunately I bought the car from a private owner not from a dealer.

you can try multiple dealers and play dumb each time. Others on here have had a decline from one dealer and then got it fixed at another.

I would call ford and ask about the warranties and which parts are involved without giving any more information than necessary.

That’s what I’m gonna do the car still drives fine so maybe I should wait till it breaks. The only thing is that the dealers will keep charging me diagnosis with no fix. I posted on here to see if anyone else has had a similar problem with ford. I’m pretty sure transmission is covered I saw some one here 78k and got his replaced and some other person at like 102k and they covered part of it.

See if it's a leak covered by this TSB, or if the case itself is cracked through extreme driving. If the transmission is cracked, then I can't see how it would be covered by warranty. But if it's a leaking damper housing (or any other reason other than a cracked case) then it should be covered by warranty. At the first link, notice it's covered under emissions warranty. At the second link, notice that it states that variable transmission is covered under the hybrid unique component warranty of 8 years/100,000 miles. Bring this to new dealers and raise hell.

I have been driving the car and it drips very little. Is the damper housing the black thing at the back of the tranny. If there is a pic that would be helpful. Because the leak looks like it’s coming from the back and dripping down to the bottom and then on the floor.

Omar it looks like from the link provided your transmission would be covered. Don't let them cheat you.

I am getting a seepage from the "front timing cover".  I took it to a dealer yesterday and they said it isn't leaking enough to be fixable under warranty. On the other hand the guy had only been working there for three days. (my luck). Is this a hybrid only component because I've never heard of this on a car before.  Does the hybrid have a timing chain?  Wouldn't that make it a unique component?
