timothyf Report post Posted May 22, 2020 Hi, anyone have to replace their front wheel bearing on their 2010-12 FFH? Have the bearings been long lasting? Do they need to be done in pairs? Is it quicker and easier to replace the hub and bearing or the hub/bearing/knuckle assy? Can you pull the bearing off without removing the knuckle from the car or does the knuckle have to go on a press in order to get the bearing out? I had an unpleasant experience trying to get the lower front control arm off the knuckle on my 2010 FFH and not looking to repeat the experience. Thanks,
markwilson66 Report post Posted December 10, 2020 Late reply but for future reference I paid $320 to have the front bearing replaced, $80 for the bearing (hub was good), $240 labor. This was a local independent shop that I trust (he's my neighbor).
CentFlorGuy Report post Posted July 31, 2022 I had both front wheel bearings replaced at 94k miles by an independent local shop. They charged me $660, about half what two different dealers quoted. The bearings had started making a very loud "rumble/road" noise inside the vehicle, and it got progressively worse over time. The new bearings returned the noise level to like new condition.
