Andrew.cc Report post Posted December 31, 2019 About a month ago, my in dash touch screen (sync 3 on a 2018 FFH) would only work, intermittently, normally only after I’d driven a while, and turned my car off and on. When it wouldn’t work, the screen wouldn’t turn on at all, and none of the features associated with the screen (radio, back up camera, climate control) would work. But once, after a long drive (20+ minutes), it would turn on, after a slight delay, returning all functionality. I tried checking fuses, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, and it completely failed before I could try and do an update. OF COURSE, this happened at the expiration of my factory warranty, and my extended warranty only covers repairs of factory installed stereos. Im taking it to Ford soon to see if I get lucky and they can actually repair it, but as far options are concerned, I’m considering buying a used deck. I know they have to be programmed, so essentially I’m looking for input from anyone. Thanks in advance!
mcarvin Report post Posted May 28, 2020 Hi Andrew, I just experienced this myself about 30min ago. I'm sorry you didn't get any responses to your post. Did you ever get it fixed?
Peter from Waterloo Report post Posted September 30, 2020 Could this be related to the 12V battery failing and not maintaining a high enough 12V bus voltage until the HV battery charges is sufficiently? @Andrew.cc and @mcarvin ? Did your fixes involve a new 12V battery and/or some TSB's? Looks like my year-and-a-half old 2019 Fusion Hybrid's weird electrical problems with climate controls and radio display on the large screen have culminated in a 12V battery failure completely bricking the car. I'd be interested in your findings.
jpohlman Report post Posted October 1, 2020 The 12v battery is the booting battery for the car, a bad one will cause all kinds of strange things. The usual first symptom of a bad one is that when you try to run the stereo with the ignition off, it turns off in less than 15-20 minutes with a power save message.
