Sky14FFH Report post Posted August 8, 2019 Hi had a couple questions. For all of you who have had software updates, how do you ask the dealer to check for them and apply them? Also, is there a way to reset the computer entirely so it can re-learn all new patterns? On non hybrid cars you could do this by disconnecting your battery. 2014FordFusionSE Report post Posted August 8, 2019 You can just call up the dealer and make an appointment specifically for the update, or they'll do it when you take your car in for service.I always remind them and make sure that it's listed on the service invoice for $0.
Waldo Report post Posted August 8, 2019 The dealer is under no obligation to update any software on your vehicle unless you have an actual problem. if you're willing to pay them to do it, they probably will, but just updating software because it's available is not covered under your warranty. billford Report post Posted August 8, 2019 If you have a good relationship with the dealer, spending money getting your maintenance done with them, they normally will do it for no or minimal charge during a maintenance visit. If you just go in and get the free warranty work done, they usually won't help you out. You will have to pay for it in full.
