Lag between Accelerator and engine start

Recommended Posts

I have a 2010 Fusion Hybrid with 103K miles. In the past 6 months the lag from touching the accelerator to gas engine start and power has increased noticeably. I had the plugs replaced and fuel injection system cleaned at just over 100K as recommended. No change. Hybrid system seems to be working as it always has. Overall mileage might be down a bit but likely related to less highway driving and many short trips by my wife. No warning lights at all. Highway performance is quite normal.

Anyone else with the problem?

This is most likely due to the software limiting EV operation as mentioned elsewhere in this forum. How long have you had the car? While driving at a steady 30 mph do EV and ICE operation alternate every 1/2 mile or so which is normal?

I bought it new 9 years ago. As long as I touch the accelerator at any speed the ICE immediately starts.
