ghamer Report post Posted July 17, 2019 well... I have a 2014 FFH with about 140K on it so far. Great car. Love it. But I have just started hearing a "whine". I can only hear it when the engine is running. It is very loud. On electric mode there is no noise. Based on this it makes me think that it is the starter/generator motor. I am told that the dealership pretty much replaces the entire eCVT. Obviously I am completely out of warranty, so that sucks. I stopped by my local dealership and a replacement HF-35 is about 7K. My whole CAR isn't worth that much! So, the thing is paid off, so i don't really care what happens to it, but I kinda want to keep it around. I'm thinking of buying a wrecked donor vehicle, or a "new" transxle/eCVT from a dismantler. I am pretty mechanical and have plenty of tools to do the deed... but I have never done this to a hybrid before. I can't seem to find any resources on the web (think youtube) or directions how to take everything apart in the right order. Can anybody help or point me in the right direction? Thanks!
