13' Transmission REMOVAL PROCESS - anyone familiar with this

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a 13' FFH SE with 'known bad transmission' diagnosed by dealer and 2nd opinion the car needs the transmission fixed/replaced - 190 k kilometers.

I bought it for project to pull the trans, dissassemble and see if I can repair - for fun!

Is anyone here familiar with the actual removal process.

I have a factory service manual on order, but best I can find so far is that I will need to remove the subframe and take it out the bottom.

Wondering, how much vertical clearance I need to remove the subframe, I am working on a DRIVE ON hoist.

I will be documenting the process, but still researching before starting into it.

Pete

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but any updates on successfully swapping our your transmission?  Looking for as much advice as possible for my 13 FFH that's in need of a transmission swap.

I posted the procedure in this thread if you’re still interested. Ford/Motorcraft have a service you can pay for to get access to all of the Ford procedures. $20 for 3 days I believe.
