normanjf22 Report post Posted February 9, 2019 So I stumbled upon this used 2010 FFH, I've never really considered one but looking at the car and reading through the forum here it seems like they are pretty solid vehicles and have a long life span. I would use the car primarily for commuting, approx. 15,000 miles a year, and would be looking to keep the car for 4-5 years. My questions are, does the car listed below seem like a decent deal, what worries would I realistically have as far as HVB life (reading through here it seems like failures are extremely rare) and is this something I can perform maintenance on myself ( I usually handle my own maintenance as far as brakes, wheel bearings, cv axles, etc.)? https://www.briansalignment.com/USED-CAR-INVENTORY.html You will have to scroll to the bottom for the car. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!
murphy Report post Posted February 9, 2019 You need to investigate that car a little further. I had a 2010 hybrid and it did not have adaptive cruise control. I bought it new off of the lot so I don't know if there was an option for it. The battery is NiMH not LiIon. I traded it in on a new 2013 Fusion Energi. There is a lot of repetition in that description like it was cut and pasted from somewhere else instead of composed specifically for that car. I bought it in early spring of 2009. Yes I got a 2010 car in early 2009. I never had any trouble with it. I got rid of it because I wanted a plug in hybrid.
maiabee Report post Posted February 9, 2019 Hi, I also posted recently looking for buying advice. I have been looking for a 2010-2012 for the past few weeks; I am in California. The two things that people seem to mention as issues for the first generation hybrid is the throttle body, and something with a door handle, that seems like one could fix oneself if handy. That price seems really good, cheaper than for how much they go for here! Plus they did maintenance on it. I would buy it. I am having trouble finding something that is in good shape with the features that I want for a reasonable price. Automate Report post Posted February 10, 2019 Parts of description were definitive copied from newer model. No 2010 had adaptive cruise control or Lithium Ion HV battery. They do mention the battery was replaced but I'm guessing this is the 12V battery, not the HV battery. Price does seem good but I wonder why they put $3K of service into a car they were going to sell for $5K. I've been happy with my 2010 that I purchased with 70K and now have 125K miles. Automate Report post Posted February 10, 2019 (edited) Also, it would be interesting to find out the date the car was made and if it is having the 2010 specific issue discussed in this topic http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/12638-wont-run-in-ev-mode-ice-kicks-in-immediately/ Edited February 10, 2019 by Automate
normanjf22 Report post Posted February 10, 2019 Thanks everyone for replying. A lot of the description does seemed like it was just copied so I'm interested to see what the car is like in person. I'm testing driving it tomorrow so I'll update once I've seen it and driven it. Thanks again for the help!
