kash80 Report post Posted February 5, 2019 I have a 2014 FFH SE, first owner. I have driven about 51k miles on it. Recently I discovered that the HVAC control buttons (not the ones on screen) don't make the beep sound when changing settings or switching on/off. As my car is out of warranty, was wondering if this is an indication of something bigger failing on the electronics side. It's due for a regular maintenance and will ask the dealer about it, but wanted to put this question out here first.
2014FordFusionSE Report post Posted February 6, 2019 I believe there's a way to reset/restart the system. It maybe worth a try.Maybe it's all frozen :)
Rafat Report post Posted February 7, 2019 It happened to my FFH 2014 once, and it was a strange behaviour caused, I think, by a bad 12 volt battery that needed replacement
kash80 Report post Posted February 25, 2019 (edited) Update: The remote start also started working intermittently. Changed the battery on the remote, but didn't help. Finally ended up at the dealer. The took a whole day to diagnose the issue. Their solution was to re-flash the whole software of the car (that's what the dealer told me), which resolved the issue. The dealer said there's an updated version of the software but there's no TSB for it. Now, keep my fingers crossed that some other electronics issue doesn't pop up. This ended up costing me about $300  Edited February 25, 2019 by kash80
mwr Report post Posted February 26, 2019 I've never heard any any beep from the climate control buttons on my 2015 FFH. See the attached image from the manual. Are those the buttons you referred to?

Texasota Report post Posted February 26, 2019 The buttons on my 2015 S are different looking than what mwr posted above but mine have never beeped either.

Texasota Report post Posted February 27, 2019 The beeps apply only to "My Ford Touch" touch panel, right?
Timewellspent Report post Posted February 27, 2019 The beeps apply only to "My Ford Touch" touch panel, right? No, both the touch screen and any of the buttons on the panel below like fan speed, temp up down etc.
Texasota Report post Posted February 27, 2019 Does a FFH without "My Ford Touch" have beeping buttons? I don't think they do, but if I'm wrong, then I just learned another thing about my FFH from this forum.
Timewellspent Report post Posted February 28, 2019 I looked when I went home last night. There are separate settings to turn on/off the tones for both My Ford Touch and the panel below.
md13ffhguy Report post Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) The touch-sensitive buttons below the big screen in the early Gen2 models with My Ford Touch (13-14, I think) beeped by default. Generally, they are a little frustrating to use, because you have to touch them just right, or they don't respond. Ford switched back to real, physical buttons on later models based on customer feedback. Edited March 1, 2019 by md13ffhguy
billford Report post Posted March 2, 2019 I have the touch sensitive buttons on my 2014. Sometimes when moving the gearshift, I accentally brush against one of the buttons. The heater may turn on or the radio stations may change. I prefer real buttons like the later years have...
