Fgolman Report post Posted October 29, 2018 Bought the car this summer and didn't think to test heat. Now, in the cool weather, only seems to produce heat when in regular hybrid mode when gas engine runs. I understood that the EV mode heat was created from a coil or other method (EG, heat pump?). Dealer says no heat in EV mode, you've got to run engine. I find this hard to believe. I'd suggest there's something wrong with supplemental heat system. Please advise. Thanks! Fritz Golman. murphy Report post Posted October 29, 2018 (edited) In EV mode cabin heat comes from a 5 kW resistance heating element. Your dealer is probably not an electric certified dealer. There is an Energi specific forum here: http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com Edited October 29, 2018 by murphy
Fgolman Report post Posted October 30, 2018 That's what I figured. Didn't sound logical to me. Thank you.
