alarm with no display message

Recommended Posts

Hi, my 2010 Fusion Hybrid with 99,000 miles has an ongoing problem with an alarm similar to the "stop when safe" (which I experienced once), but with no display message. The car has been in the shop twice now with a full tune up, master cylinder and control module replaced (after having a partial brake failure and having it towed) and the alarm still sounds. It can be within minutes of starting the car, but other days it will go hours without hearing it. I'm hoping it's just a glitch, but very wary.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like maybe the dealer has not upgraded the firmware to the latest version in all the computer modules.

http://forscan.org with a OBD scanner is very helpful for troubleshooting. It even tells you if any of the modules do not have latest firmware.

I assume you mean for as-built / configuration? I have not come across one. What in particular are you looking to enable / disable?

I was trying to see about doing the digital speedometer and the dark car mode. I'm not even sure exactly what I can do.

Most of the lighting control (such as dark car) is controlled by the GEM / SJB (also called BCM on some Fords). The Fusion Hybrid configuration of this module should be similar to other Fords of similar model year.

The IPC module controls the instrument panel I have not seen anyone turn on a digital speedometer. This IPC module is only used in the 2010-2012 Fusion Hybrid, Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and Mercury Milan Hybrid so the IPC configuration will be different from all other Ford cars. Some people just start changing some of the values and see what happens. Kind of trial and error.
