Removing the ugly front licence plate bracket

Recommended Posts

I just picked up my new '08 SEL and it had that terrible looking black plastic front licence plate bracket. I have removed it now there are 2 holes in the bumper I need to find a couple of plugs for. I would like to find something that I can have color match painted. Any idea?

I was thinking of doing the same thing. You might want to swing by your nearest body shop and see what they would charge to plug and paint.

I just ordered these for my new Sport Blue Fusion, how do you feel about the look and feel now that they are installed? I was really disgusted that the front plate mount was installed on my vehicle but they had to go out of state to get the color I wanted apparently so I understand why its on there. I'm hopeful that these will look professional and classy if I am to remove the license plate holder on mine..

Sportblue,

I am pleased with the result, obviously the plugs look better than just the bare holes. I'm sure they will be something only I will notice and I will get used to them over time. My wife took a look at them and just thought they were a part of the car, so I take that as a good sign no one will notice.

I had a 1990 Accord that actually came with plugs from the factory. I think they look fine as long as they're body color.
