Davewn Report post Posted May 24, 2018 (edited) Hello All, Anyone else having a problem with the sunglass holder in the upper console refusing to stay in the closed position? I've had my Shadow Black FFH since March and, while kind of cheap feeling, the sunglass holder worked fine. Once the weather got warm and sunny, the holder has refused to stay closed until the car cools down, blocking about 2/3 of the rearview mirror. The nylon pins in the closure mechanism get really soft and flimsy. Now that my dealer has inspected it (and it refuses to stay closed at all anymore, without duct tape anyway, lol), Ford's warranty solution is ordering a new sunglass door, even though the door works fine and the male pin is intact. It's like having a locksmith change the doorknob when the jamb is broken...The service writer said he's never seen the problem before, just wondering if that's just a standard line of BS. I'm not too excited about making 3 trips to the dealer to fix a seemingly straightforward and minor problem. Edited to add: When I told my 18 year old daughter (who had the magic touch to close the damn thing) what transpired at the dealership yesterday, she replied: "That's stupid, the door works fine." Davewn Report post Posted June 2, 2018 Have to give a shout-out to my local dealer, Stivers Ford, for fixing the sunglass holder problem right the first time yesterday when the part finally arrived. Not only that, they fixed it while I waited- in and out in half an hour. Stivers also remounted the horn pad/airbag assembly on a prior visit in a very timely fashion after the original dealer incorrectly replaced it when doing the steering wheel fastener recall. Damndest thing, it practically fell in my lap in the middle of a turn on my first road trip a week after buying the car. Luckily I was able to pop it back in well enough to stay put for a couple of days.
