HD Radio technology is the digital evolution of analog AM/FM radio. Your system has a special receiver that allows it to receive digital broadcasts (where available) in addition to the analog broadcasts, it already receives.So it says. I've never paid attention... lolder Report post Posted March 3, 2017 HD radio is a bust. It's technology is proprietary and stations are not allowed to broadcast with sufficient power. Coverage is very spotty. I could not get mobile coverage 7 miles from the transmitter. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
CCalvinN Report post Posted March 5, 2017 I've had pretty good luck with HD radio. The primary station I listen too has it and their transmitter is a good 30 miles away. It will occassionaly flicker in and out but only in an area where I would be concerned about losing the station entirely (in a drive through, my garage...)
