JMT Report post Posted June 20, 2016 I was driving 55 MPH with Eco Cruise on when the vehicle just started to slow. No error light on the dash, all electronics, brakes and steering seemed to be working, but the accelerator pedal was very slack and there was no response when I floored it. I rolled to the shoulder, turned the vehicle off and then on again, and it seemed to be working fine. It was after business hours on a weekend, and I was able to get home (another 100+ miles). Tech at my dealer admitted that it sounded like something to be concerned about, but that any code from the incident was likely overwritten by driving and that there was nothing service could do unless they could get the vehicle to do it again. Has this happened to anyone else? Any answers to what the problem might be? I was lucky that it seemed to resolve so easily, but it doesn't exactly instill confidence in the vehicle going forward. Thanks for any insights.
murphy Report post Posted June 20, 2016 Have them check the connector for the accelerator pedal. It is six wires connected to the computer. It has two potentiometers and all six connections from the two potentiometers go to the computer. It's a latching connector and if it isn't latched it would be a problem. It is extremely difficult to get to the connector.
